9月12，13日は定禅寺ストリートジャズフェスティバル。私は楽器の演奏はできないので、残念ながら出演することは適いません。両日とも 昨年同様 本業の専門学校教員として仕事をしました。自分が受け持っている学科の学生を引き連れて西公園にテントを張って店を出しました。店の名前は「Ｇカフェ」。 ワッフルとトルネードソーセージ（話題の渦巻き状のソーセージ）をメインにしたお店です。

今日24日は仙台藩祖伊達政宗公の374回忌にあたります。私は例のごとく年中暇なし人間で、今日も仕事でした。したがって、関係する施設等を訪れることはできなかったのですが、瑞鳳殿ではご法要が執り行われたのでしょうね。

また、今日と明日は青葉神社の例大祭です。こちらは青葉まつりの陰に隠れてあまり注目されませんが、もちろん政宗公のご命日にちなむものです。来年こそはどちらも是非取材したいと思います。

仙台・青葉まつり、やっぱり雨に祟られました。私は「だてけん」の問題作成に必死で、今年は残念ながら可愛い雀たちを見に行く機会がありませんでした。ところで、すずめ踊りを踊る一団を“祭連（まづら）”といいますが、この「まづら」は仙台弁で「○○ごと」、とか「○○のまま」というような意味に用いられます。仙台文化出版社編の「仙台弁句辞典」から一句引用させていただきます。

「仙台弁句辞典」はとても素晴らしい本です。また稿を改めてご紹介させていただきます。（スキャナが故障したので画像もその時に）

先日、伊達政宗公騎馬像について調べていましたら、逸見英夫さんの“明治・大正・昭和　仙台じけん帳”に次のようの記述を見つけ驚いてしまいました。同書から引用させていただきます。

仙台市観光協会法人化の記念事業

昭和33年（１９５８）2月3日、第19代仙台市長に島野武が就任した。
敗戦後の日本は、文化国家を掲げて“観光立国”を唱えた。前任の岡崎市長も観光事業に力を入れ、昭和22年6月2日に仙台市観光協会を発足させ、仙台駅構内に観光案内所を設けた。しかし、当時、旅館業界は「手前どもは今まで通りのお客さんで結構。へたに宣伝して、たくさんお客さんに来られたりしたら却って困る」と消極的態度をとていた。このため島野市長は岡崎前市長の観光事業を受け継ぎ、関連業界の意識を高めようと、仙台市観光協会の社団法人化を提唱した。・・・（以下略）

結局、仙台市の官民挙げての努力で、昭和37年10月1日に社団法人仙台市観光協会の創立総会が開催されました。

このとき、騎馬像復元の話が持ち上がったのです。ご存知のように、現在の騎馬像は2代目です。初代は1935年（昭和10）に政宗没後300年を記念して造られましたが、第二次世界大戦中に軍に供出（当時は“出征”と言っていたそうです）され、戦後奇跡的に発見されたのですが、残念ながら下半身は溶かされ上半身のみが現在仙台市博物館の庭に展示されています。

初代の騎馬像の原型（小室達柵）が柴田町に寄付されて残っていたこともあり、観光協会の臨時総会で騎馬像復元の方針が決定されて事業が進められました。そして、東京オリンピック開会式の前日、昭和39年10月9日に2代目騎馬像の除幕式が行われました。この年は仙台市制75周年に当たっていました。

4月21日の仙台市制１２０周年　おまけで、120年前（明治22）の今日5月2日に仙台市役所が開庁したと書きましたが、本日付の【風の時編集部公式ブログ】によれば、

昭和31年発行の「仙台市史」には５月２日のところに
『仙臺市制施行五十年記念式祝賀會開催、この日を
市制記念日と定む（市報）』と書いてあります。

とのこと。つまり、仙台市にとっては節目の記念日のはずなんです。インターネットで検索してみましたら、１昨年には「市制施行１１８周年記念式を開催」しています。しかも、７月２日に。う～ん・・・。

１９５６（昭和31)年の今日4月24日、仙臺平の名工甲田栄祐が文化財保護法に基づく国の重要無形文化財技術保持者（人間国宝）に指定されました。仙台平は「精好（せいごう）仙臺平」の略称です。精好とは“精好織”のことで、地合いが緻密で精美な織物という意味です。

仙台平の起源は、仙台藩第４代藩主伊達綱村が西陣の織工小松弥右衛門を招き、幕府・諸侯への贈答品および臣下への下賜品生産として製織を始め御国織（おくにおり）と称しました。袴地はとくに精巧で諸侯の間で好評を博し、仙台平の名称で全国に知られました。

2002年（平成14）、甲田栄祐の子息甲田綏郎（こうだよしお）（1929―　）が重要無形文化財保持者に認定されました。

仙台市は１８８９年（明治２２）市制を施行しました。この年の２月２日、内務省告示第一号で全国３６ヶ所の市制施行地が指定されました。当時、仙台は人口８万６５３２人で藩政時代の最盛期の人口をしのぎ、６大都市、金沢に次いで全国８位の人口でした。市会議員選挙が行われて、２５日には第１回市会が開かれました。３０日には遠藤庸治が初代市長に任命され、５月２日には市役所が開庁しました。

昨日の朝、近所の神社の境内でこんな光景を見つけました。

昭和32年3月9日、仙台市はアメリカ合衆国カリフォルニア州リバーサイド市と初の国際姉妹都市提携を結びました。

縁組のきっかけは、1951年の母の日に、大学婦人協会（現大学女性協会）仙台支部雄姿の方々が、仙台にあった米軍野戦病院（どれを指すのか確認していません、調査中です）に入院中の一米軍兵士にカーネーションの花束を持参して見舞ったそうです。このことに感動した兵士の母親が、リバーサイド市の大学婦人協会に働きかけ、寄付を募って奨学基金を作り、仙台に学ぶ女性のための奨学金として「リバーサイド奨学金」を設立しました。それは1953年、姉妹都市交流が提携される4年前のことでした。このことが、リバーサイド市との姉妹都市提携の実現へとつながったのです。

大学婦人協会のことは、リバサイド市との交流を通して仙台市民の国際交流に貢献しておられる「仙台リバサイド交流連絡会」（オレンジクラブ）」のHPを参照させていただきました。仙台市とリバーサイド市との交流の歴史が一覧表に整理されています。この表を見ていて遠い記憶が蘇ったのですが、私が立町小学校の３，４年生の頃、何かリバーサイド市との交流の活動がありました。この辺はちょっと要調査ですね。

他に、「仙台　きょうはなんの日」（仙台文化出版社編）も参考にさせていただきました。

旧暦（太陰太陽暦）を勉強していると、本当に季節の変化を意識するようになります。今年は2月4日が「立春」で、明日3月5日が「啓蟄」になります。立春も啓蟄も二十四節気の一つです。古代中国では太陰暦（月の運行のみによる暦法）を用いていました。太陰暦の欠点は、暦の日付が太陽の位置（季節に関係する）とは無関係であったために、暦と季節がずれてしまい、農耕などに大変不便なことでした。その結果考え出されたのが二十四節気です。1年を24に分け（分け方には平気法・定気法という2つの方法がありますが今回はふれないでおきましょう）、季節の推移を表す言葉をつけたものです。ただ、この表現は中国の黄河中下流域の季節が基準になっていますから、日本に当てはめると地域によって多少違和感があります。しかし、この二十四節気が導入されたことで、およそ半月ごとの季節の変化が暦面に記載されるようになり農作業などには大変役立ったのです。

「啓蟄」の「蟄」は虫などが土中に隠れているという意味で、「啓」には開くとか出発するという意味がありますから、冬の間土の中で冬ごもりしていた虫たちが、穴を啓（ひら）いて地上に這い出してくるというイメージです。次の節気は「春分（今年は3月20日）」、春はもうすぐです。
